Ahmed Yerima is a playwright, Play Director, Actor, Cultural Administrator, and Lecturer. He attended University of Ife, University College, Cardiff and the Royal Holloway College, University of London for his Doctorate degree. Presenly, he teaches theatre and cultural studies at the Redeemer’s University. He was the Director-General of the National Theatre and National Troupe of Nigeria. And the Director-General of the Abuja Carnival. He is also an award winning playwright who has written and published over sixty performed plays both in Nigeria and abroad. His recent plays for the Duke of Shomolu Productions are Aremu, Sanusi, and Sardauna. His play, Hard Ground, won the Nigerian-NLNG prize for Nigerian Literature. He is a Fellow of the Society of Nigerian Theatre Artistes, the National Association of Theatre Arts Practitioners, and the Nigerian Academy of Letters. He is a member of the NLNG prize for the Nigerian prize for Literature and the Advisory Board of the Duke of Shomolu Productions.
